I thank Kittie Howard for my Making Smiles on Faces Award before I lose its trail. Thank you Kittie. Pop over to Kittie's wonderful blog, The Block, if you haven't already. She found this cute award on e-How.
e-How is a great site where you can submit articles on your areas of expertise and actually (ahem) GET PAID FOR THEM!! Always a bonus as most of us tap away for free most of the time, for love anyway!
Clever Kittie! I am passing this award onto:
Jennie Bailey at A Garden Full of Lily
Alex J Cavanaugh
The Happy Whisk
Joanna St James
Thhank you to Kari Marie from A sideways journey to lifelong bliss for the Honest Scrap Award. I've passed this one on before and I may again, but not today!
On a sadder note, I am very sad at the death of Ruth Park, a very famous Australian author, who passed away on the 17th December. She wrote so many tomes on early Australia, some which were made into mini-series on Australian television. Harp in the South would be one of my favourites. Since her death the price of this book has skyrocked to AUS $55!
Happy Christmas everyone!

Congrats on your awards. Although I've never read any of Park's material, it's always sad to lose a well-loved author.
Congratulations and thank you! That's a colorful award.
Congrats on your awards and to those you passed them on to. Prices always go up when the person who made it passes. I've never read this author, but it is sad to lose a loved person on any level. Have a merry christmas
The Sisterhood: Thanks and yes, so sad.
Alex J: You're welcome. Very colourful!
Summer: Yes, it is. Thanks.
I'm saddened to hear of Ruth Park's death as well. When Robert B. Parker died two months ago, it was like an old friend had died. He was a writer of several books a year. And his passing means his detective, Spencer, and his Susan Silverman have also died in a way.
May your Christmas Season be magical and healing, Roland
What a great colorful and fun award. Very kind of you. Thanks for making me smile, as well.
Congratulations on your Awards, Denise. Thanks for stopping by at The Farm to have a glimpse of what it is like this time of the year in KL.
Merry Christmas!
Congratulations on the awards, and to the recipients.
When we follow someone in print or on screen, we feel as if we know them...I'm sorry to hear about Ms. Park....
I will have to look up some of her works. Early Australia-I'd love to know more!
Roland: Thanks for visiting and your good wishes.
The Happy Whisk: YOu're welcome!
Grandpa: Thanks for stopping by!
Words Crafter: Yes, so true.
Fun award and congrats to the new recipients!
It is sad to lose a fellow artist. But it is nice to know Park's legacy lives on in her writing.
Congrats on all the awards and thank you for passing the christmas award onto me! I really appreciate the thought! Thanks so much.
That's so sad about the Australian author.
I hope you have a merry christmas.
Lydia K: Yes she did.
Melissa: Think you deserve a Christmas award!
Hey Denise, dropped over to say congratulations on your awards - well deserved for all your blogging hard work! Thanks for dropping by Kangaroos of the Scrubby Bush, your comments are always a delight. I don't know about working on the eletion being more fun than blogging, but it will stretch the mind and help pay the bills! I too am sad about Ruth Park. I have her autobiographies "A Fence around the cuckoo" and "Fishing in the Styx" and will be re reading them soon. Here's wishing you a woonderful Christmas and a sensational 2011! "Talk" to you in 2011 I'm sure.
Congrats on the awards! And to the recipients.
I'm sorry to hear about the Aussie writer.

I luvs me some L'Aussie :)
You're so special Denise. Thanks for passing on the Christmas award.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure I'll have time to pass this along before Christmas. I'm sorta on internet vacation so I can get some writing done, and only pop in for pre scheduled blogfest entries.
Hmm, I'll see what I can do. This is such a special award. . .
And in case I haven't said it before; thanks for being a special blogger friend. I've enjoyed our association over this last year, and hope to continue on through the next, and the next. I've truly enjoyed your writing excerpts and thoughts.
What an amazing gift you've brought to my writing, and personal, journey.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and best wished on your writing and publishing adventures.

I, too, was completely sad about Ruth Park :(

Happy Happy Holidays Lynn. I hope your Christmas is very merry and bright.
Wishing you a terrific Christmas,
Jane
Congrats on the awards, but sorry to hear about Ruth Park.
Merry Christmas
Congratulations on the awards, and to the others awarded!
I've never read anything by Parker, but it is sad when someone you've read/seen the work of dies . . .
Thanks for the bit about e-how--I believe all writers should always be paid (but we do it for the love, too!). And Merry Christmas!
Thanks for the links - new blogs, yay! Congratulations on the awards and happy holidays!

Congrats on your awards! :) Hope you have a wonderful Christmas season!! :)
I was so sad to hear about Ruth Park. I grew up on the Muddle Headed Wombat, and Playing Beattie Bow was one of the books that led me to my history degree (and will lead me in 2011 to try my first historical). She was an amazing woman.
Congrats on your awards, and hope you have a wonderful 2011!
HI L'A
I hope you boxing day is fine and that your Christmas was all you expected
cheers

Congratulations on the awards. The recipients are well deserving. I'll also sorry for Ruth's death.

Tried to send you an email L'Aussie but it got returned. I'm setting up my book tour for the last three weeks of Jan. 2011. If you're interested email me at gillael@aolc.om
Happy New Year
E-mail letter 4 blog book tour.
Greetings
If you’ve been by my blog recently than you may have noticed that my high fantasy novel, “The Treasures of Carmelidrium,” is now available on Amazon’s kindle. I’m writing to ask if you would be willing to host me in a blog book tour. By the time the tour occurs I hope to have my book with smashwords to, they will upload to Barnes & Nobles.
I have followed several blog book tours and I found that both Stephen Tremp and Alex J. Cavanaugh did a brilliant job setting up their book tours. With that in mind I am going to schedule my tour to hopefully be as successful as theirs.
I am selling “The Treasures of Carmelidrium,” for $2.99 until July 1, 2011 when the price will go up to $3.99.
Below is a list of topics. I would like you to choose a topic and email me at gillael@aol.com with the topic and the date you would like to host me. Monday – Friday the second, third or fourth week of January 2011.
I will be offering 3 e-books to three different commenters. All they need to do is leave a comment and include their e-mail address so I can send them their free voucher. For each comment they will receive 1 entry in the drawing. If they follow the tour and leave multiple comments at the other blog sites, they will be entered for each comment with e-mail address included. I do not require anyone to follow me. The winners will be announced on my blog, Jan. 31, 2011, after the tour ends, and I will send them an e-mail with the voucher number.
Here’s the list:
1. World building
2. Character driven
3. Creating monsters
4. Mythical creatures
5. Playing the “what if” game
6. Plot vs character driven
7. What are “The Treasures of Carmelidrium?”
8. Why do I write fantasy vs another genre?
9. What elements play a part in the story? (Romance, suspense, mystery, etc.)?
10. Tension & Humor
11. Interview with:
a. Protagonist
b. Antagonist
c. Elf minor character
d. Scout of Gil-Lael minor character.
For the interview choice, choose one, a. – d. I will provide you with information about the character and you may choose to either ask the questions or I will submit to you both questions and answers.
If you would prefer something different I will consider that as well. My thinking is that followers of the tour will continue to come by and hopefully join your blog if the topics vary and are interesting.
I will stop by all day to review the comments and answer questions. I live in the U.S. so their may be some time differences to consider if you are outside the U.S. We can discuss that in the e-mail.
Finally the dates:
Jan. 10 – 14 week one
Jan. 17 – 21 week two
Jan. 24 – 28 week three
To recap:
Choose the date you would like to host me, the topic and e-mail me back. First come first serve. Only one topic per host. I will email you a.s.a.p with a confirmation for both the date and topic.
I hope this is as exciting for you as it is for me.
Yours,
Nancy

I was going to wish you a merry xmas but flying on xmas eve was a really dumb move on my part. I'm just recovering now, hope you had a wonderful day
Hey all, am on borrowed internet so will have to be 'one size fits all.' Thanks for your lovely comments and felicitations on Ruth Park's death. She will be sorely missed.
I hope everyone has had a great Christmas. We have had rain and super humidity. Only one swim!
Hey Denise,
Sorry about the rain! Just wanted to let you know I posted the Fair Dinkum award post.....
Hope you've had a great holiday anyway :)
