Thanks for coming by!
For the next few days I'll be over at Chrys Fey's being interviewed on topics of her choice. Luckily she was interested in my Paris obsession and my love of WEP.
Please note Yolanda Renee's and my next WEP challenge...GARDENS. Surely all of you in the Northern Hemisphere are so excited to have winter behind you and the gardens blooming. Been seeing some of your great flower shots on Instagram just as we go into winter Down Under (but nothing like YOUR winter! Bliss!)
Here's our blurb at Write...Edit...Publish for the GARDENS challenge:
This challenge will be a great opportunity for the photographers, but also for writers attempting to describe the most beautiful gardens ever seen. For example, nonfiction on 'The Best Gardens in the World', or historical--'The Hanging Gardens of Babylon', travel- 'The Lingering Garden at Suzhou' or something similar for travelers. Also, as always our fictional pieces with a romantic/unromantic garden scene, or photographs of mind-blowing gardens to motivate people...
Sign up...August 1st for posting between August 17 - 19.
Hope your sister has a good time anyway.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure she will. Wish I was with her. Sigh...
DeleteGosh Denise - I hope your sister realises the European Football thingy is on? Sincerely hope she avoids the strikes and hassles ... and generally get to see what she wants to find out about. It's a glorious city - with so much to offer ... another place I need to visit ...
ReplyDeleteCheers Hilary
You get yourself over there Hilary. I'm planning a canal trip next year...driving the boat ourselves...wanna come??
DeleteI'm sure your sister can overlook the mess, there's just so much to see! I'm still envious, someday, I tell myself, someday! Wonderful blog post for the WEP - I'll have to get on the ball too!
ReplyDeleteNow off to visit Chrys!
Just a shame to arrive in Paris when there's so much happening. I caught train strikes once. Wasn't fun but worked it out.
DeleteRelatives were in Paris two weeks ago, just in time for the train strikes and before the Louvre floods. They had a grand time, great stories.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what happens, everyone's experience is always different, yet usually positive. I always expect some sort of crazy when I'm in Paris.
DeleteYou have lots of pots going in the fire! Go you! Heading to Chrys's now. ;)
ReplyDeleteHeh, heh. More pots the better!
DeleteThere were a few things happening when we were there, threats of bombs on the Eiffel Tower, a Palestinian protest. From what I could see, the Paris police are efficient and very cool under stressful conditions. I'm thinking of something for the August Gardens WEP. Going to check Chrys' place.
ReplyDeleteThe Paris police have plenty of practise dealing with violence. At the very least, the students are often having a go.
DeleteHeading over to see what you had to say with Chris!
ReplyDeleteNot a good time to go to Paris by the sound of it.
ReplyDeleteSomehow, a story about a garden makes me think murder mystery, Hitchcock style. Rear Window!
ReplyDeleteSpot on! You've got me thinking!
DeleteLove that August is about gardens! Will stop in to see you at Chry's place.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your enthusiasm Lee!
DeleteRead your post at Chrys', Denise. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Snazzy!
DeleteOh I bet she'll have a grand time.
ReplyDeleteShe's there now and she did!
DeleteI would love to go to Paris! Did you revamp your blog? I'm adoring your header!!
ReplyDeleteYep Tammy... a bit of revamping going on.
DeleteThis subject reminds me of one of my favorite books as a kid: The Secret Garden.
ReplyDeleteI still love that book!
DeleteI'm headed over to Chrys's place. =) I love gardens. Unfortunately I can't spend very long in them before my body stops loving me. Darn allergies.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame Crystal.
DeleteI'm going on over to Chrys place to read. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Olivia.
DeleteAwesome that August is gardens! Maybe orchids would be next ;)
ReplyDeleteGarden in August? Too hot and too many mosquitoes. We are already in the mid 90s F (34 C) here so I shudder to think how warm it will get in August. Even in Paris it is getting quite warm in summer. I have already said that I am not a good writer, in English at least. Well, I did send an essay to the Guardian newspaper and they published it last week – in their immigrants section. It was not a great piece of writing though, just information. (You can see a link on my blog.)
ReplyDeleteHi Vagabonde. I will go to the link in your blog. Congratulations! Gardens in August is just the month we're writing about gardens. August is still winter in Oz, but our gardens look great all year round.
DeleteI have what could best be described as a black thumb, but I do love looking at beautiful pictures of gardens. I will definitely check it out.
