The Greek islands are truly jewels sparkling in the Aegean Sea....

I really enjoyed your story and her tension and lush descriptions really awarded us with a lovely story. (I've sent you an email in return.) The setting, of course, is there for you--our romantic is Greece and the timeframe. And as usual your descriptions are wonderful, the dialogue perfect. "A sea still as olive oil" as noted above caught my eye also, but the punctuation confused me so I couldn't tell if it referred to the heroine or to the sea. I would say, surrounded by a sea THAT WAS as still as olive oil. Very minor detail. My favorite metaphor is this one: But now Syros’ mansions were fallen on their knees in the water like partisan fighters begging for life. Excellent creative application of the so-called pathetic fallacy, though mansions doesn't technically fall under the category of nature. But whatever...it's great; really struck me! The story works well for me overall. The ending portends a possibly great romance about to begin!

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7362528912516506170.post-65850052345904226332013-07-23T08:14:07.208+10:002013-07-23T08:14:07.208+10:00Excellent descriptions. The descriptions of the islands were heartbreaking, such a tragedy that war destroys so much. With your travel eye, you write excellent, exotic romance pieces.

The meeting and dinner together put a sweet romance touch to this. Both seem ready for the challenge of their new life together.

Awesome that you found greek translations. Such a difficult, but expressive language. Kudos to you for finding the "wife" term. Well done.

.........dholedolorahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08715849844092553699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7362528912516506170.post-15973013206444488972013-07-22T04:01:31.739+10:002013-07-22T04:01:31.739+10:00I like your descriptions -- "belching bus&quo...I like your descriptions -- "belching bus" -- nicely done.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7362528912516506170.post-19632360068261717192013-07-21T08:10:13.259+10:002013-07-21T08:10:13.259+10:00Despite her anxiety, he sounds like a good man.Despite her anxiety, he sounds like a good man.Alex J.
